@chiasm It is sad to hear of an artist‘s passing. I wouldn’t have guessed suicide, if that is what it turns out to be. I have a hard time parsing that course of action, especially if they are younger than I am. Why I react that way? I can find no coherent reasons, just fantasies about the power of retroactive optimism.

@hollie UAS (unexpected aerial stumpers) are a real phenomena. We‘re appraising local pilots of this data. Really tiny airplane staff all across the living room floor say thanks.

@timapple just excellent. this is something  gets right, so long as the os has enough room, the hardware delivers.

@baldur “This parrot wouldn’t ‘foom!’ if you put 20,000 volts through ‘em!”

That central feeling of apathy and revulsion, which many share in reaction to the Extreme Mediocrity which ai trends portend, is certainly what I feel when I contemplate being at the mercy of faceless utterances from non-persons. It all seems a software version of Vogons (from Adam’s HHG2G) more or less.

@jack Well, they say the first step is to admit it to yourself, and then to a prosthetic Yorick with better sunglasses but no ears. Why they say it? That I don’t know. ❤︎

@pudding yeah, got that. nice. line is expressive and yours fits the subject well. nur weiter!

heya! @pudding glad you’re here. i like the pencil(?) lines and the star talk. ★ ❤︎

@pratik The idea that these emotions or affections be captured as verbs in the software, that is near the lowest end of the attention spectrum, in my book anyway. It is not engagement at all.

Ignore, gesture, comment, discuss; only then do you get close to engagement. But simpleton greedheads would rather have something to count.

Actual engagement requires prolonged focused attention, difficult in any circumstances, but near impossible for many wandering around the information circus.

@jack I agree. ‘Prescriptionists’ abound and are reliably annoying. Aggregated behaviors just have a different, hard to manage gravity. So obviously shit goes sideways often and then it‘s no fun or good or value for anyone. Bleh.

And, to all really, conversation is important and not always easy, so thx!
