@fgtech , I suspect you could say ‘most’ rather than ‘some’. In either case, such discussions are likely to become part of the entertainment landscape, as most everything does lately in the simpleton west, but that doesn’t prevent folks from taking it seriously. I do, but from a particular angle (language) which can be, well, a bit harsh. Trying to sound sympathetic can come off cold.
As to remedies for or reasons why shit like this happens on the regular, I am hesitant to guess…well, alright… it is terrified people making terrible decisions. The trauma drama 🎭 is pernicious.

Some of overwhelm is self inflicted, at least in my case, but scaling and attention don’t reliably yield pro-user results; in fact, the opposite seems likely true, and is perhaps only avoidable with effort, rather than the luck, or happy side effect, with which other institutions satisfy themselves.
Something like that anyway…

@skoobz the remarkable volatility of the social media landscape lately echos that which I find in our own understandings of mental hygiene, adaptability, standards, and so on. Churning fragmentation one minute, massless yet gravity generating the next. It’s disorienting…my bet is that we get something like boutique news outlets, which are social network silos of a sort, intentionally because of small scale shared interests, etc.
