Harold and Kumar aren’t an improved version of Cheech & Chong, they are their own thing. They trace a lineage along comedy, not racial or gender, attributes. Stiller and Mira, Lewis and Martin, Punch & Judy, and so on. White Castle is a movie about two Americans getting dinner. Their ethnicities, though the grist for some yuks, are beside the point.
