@odd I wish I knew. Posted in related thread(s) some gibberish which, upon re-reading, make me sound a libertarian-loon. Put problem in money machine, out comes out-comes!
I do have the impression that Americans prefer for private orgs to fulfill government tasking when possible. I have been adjacent to more than a few orgs involved with production and archiving of data of a nature that had me thinking "hmmm, don’t we have a need for non-market imperatives here?", quickly followed by "uh, I don’t need to answer that question to get paid."
And of course glib won’t stop the bleeding...sigh.
@JohnPhilpin thar' be monsters...

Sorry, my comment came in at an awkward angle.
There was this other thread you see... [ starts waving hands and making little beep beep noises ]
@chiasm Just posted a little more about this. We do need many more suggestions than what I am able to produce, as simplistic and naive as it is. 🤪😂
@cygnoir Creating with unconventional elements can feel a bit precarious—I mean, everything in there is quite literally going to be "baked-in"! But good advice and butter are a powerful combination, and so, well, there we are with yumminess.
And a great snap, too, btw. 📸
@toddgrotenhuis welcome to the upside down. ( ominous chord 🙃)
@rom nice.
@circustiger I love it when insurance functions exactly as it should, and was nice!
@pimoore Couldn’t agree more.
Does anybody really imagine the poor got together and said to themselves "Hey, let’s just pay more in service charges and fees than any other segment of the population—but then die early! Ha ha, fuck you society, we got ours!" Really? No, of course not.
What they imagine is that they, like everyone else, got a fair shot. I desperately want this to be true.
@jean oh goodness! ❤︎
